bowling

December 30th, 2007

I loooooove bowling. A while ago a bunch of us went 10-pin bowling at Winnipeg's best bowling place: Lavérendrye in the heart of good ol' French St. Boniface. There were 4 photography students there, but each of us didn't bring our camera (except for one) assuming at least one person would. Duncan is the good student. He brought his, and took some amazing shots (it's true). So, once again, I'm posting pictures on my blog that are not my own. Duncan gets full credit for these ones.

that time of year

December 24th, 2007

It's that time of year: everyone's got holidays and you're going through your cellphone contacts, trying to figure out how many coffee dates you can set up before school or work starts up again. It's that time of year when you think you're going to catch up on everything that you couldn't do in the past 3 months, but everything ends up being left to the side, and nothing gets done. It's the time of year where we've got the longest break from our daily routine, but somehow we run out of time to do everything else we had planned. I love the holidays!

I managed to sneak out to Birds Hill park's Pine Ridge Hollow in the biggest snowstorm of the year with my sisters to meet up with another pair of sisters. We had the healthiest pancakes in the world (the kind that put white bread to shame), and had girl talk. Yay for girl talk. And now I'm going to try to finish all my school assignments so that the next 2 weeks feel more like guilt-free holidays. I wonder what that will feel like...

Self-Assigned

December 17th, 2007

My favourite assignment for the Christmas break has to be the one Ross gave us: we basically self-assign ourself any shooting project we want. I've barely done any abstract or art photography since school started, so I jumped at the occasion as soon as I found out I had free reign. I was like a kid in a sandbox in my friends' yard out in the country this afternoon. Macro lens in tow, and a bright (even hot!) sun above, and voilà. I must say so myself, my heart leapt when I pulled them up in photoshop. I live for moments like that!

low-key

Low lighting, high ISO, but I still like what my camera produced. Just a few pics from a potluck last Friday night at Sean & Natasha's.Joanna

Jersey, and his stunning good looks.
