Heather and Andrew - Wedding Photography

September 27th, 2009

Yeah, yeah, I know, I always write nice things about the people I photograph... but if I'm to introduce Heather and Andrew to you, I have to say nice things - because they totally won my heart! What a cute couple! Actually, more than just cute, they were such lovely people and it definitely confirmed why I love photographing weddings: it's all about two people being in love and having fun celebrating it! As you can tell, the entire wedding party was having fun, and in turn, I had tons of fun shooting this wedding. Congratulations Heather & Andrew!!

Engagement Session: Gisèle et Denis

September 24th, 2009

Denis proposed to Gisèle on a train bridge out in beautiful Petersfield, Manitoba - so what better place to shoot their engagement photos than there! The setting was gorgeous and peaceful, and the shoot was relaxed. Gisèle and Denis are obviously in love, but not only that, they are such kind, warm-hearted people, and their relationship definitely shows it. I can't wait to photograph their winter wedding!

Discoveries at St. Vital Park

September 15th, 2009

I was out shooting an engagement session at St. Vital park this past weekend, and what a perfect time to go! It had just rained, so everything was saturated with colour and richness, and with the sun still hiding behind a thick sky of clouds, the lighting was beautiful: soft yet contrasty. The one down side: THE MOSQUITOES. They were ferocious. No amount of layers of clothes could stop them from biting. There were swarms of them! But the engagement photos turned out great (to be posted soon) and some of our nature discoveries were quite fascinating. If anyone can tell me what kind of fungus grows to be that big, bright orange and yellow, please let me know! Those mushrooms were shocking yet beautiful in contrast to the green.

...Mushroom soup, anyone?

Headshots - Formal & Casual

September 8th, 2009

I had the pleasure of doing another headshot session last week, this time with Philippe, who needed both professional and casual headshots. I'm big on natural light and so we took advantage of the beautiful day - both indoor window light and outdoor settings. We varied the locations and lighting which gave us a wide range of results, perfect for Philippe's multiple projects and endeavours.

Bonne chance Philippe avec tes futurs projets !

Family Portrait Photography

September 6th, 2009

We've been having gorgeous weekends here in Winnipeg lately, and it's been good timing for outdoor portraits. I got a call around 2pm last Sunday afternoon with a request for a last minute family photo shoot to take place at 5:30pm. Sometimes finding time when the entire family is available for a photo is rare! The timing was good for me so a short while later I arrived at their house and did a quick family portrait session. The setting was beautiful, the family was wonderful and everything was captured within 30 minutes, just in time for them to eat supper! Here are some highlights from the Roy family photo shoot.
