through the lens of my iPhone: photography on the go

December 8th, 2011

2011 marked the year of my switch from a stone-age cell phone to a brand new iPhone. Wow, was I ever missing out! Replying to client e-mails while grocery shopping, booking shoots while driving to the lake (while my hubby drives, I know how dangerous it is!), etc. At first I only wanted a smart phone so that I could have quick access to my e-mails and calendar anywhere I went... and I quickly got convinced to get an iPhone. So much fun! (also a time-waster, I know).

My favourite non-work part of it has to be instagram. If you're an iPhone user (or just a facebook user), I'm sure you know what instagram is. I kind of see it as the status updater of the photography world. I'm not a fan of quick "vintage" presets (I'd rather create my own!), but I've grown to love the presets they have, and besides, it's just a quick way of posting snapshots online with a slightly trendier look than a regular point and shoot would make. With it, I've taken way more photos of regular on-the-go life, which is much easier than lugging a huge DSLR around (and trust me - that's gotten a lot more difficult since now having to also tote a heavy diaper bag around!).

I finally took the time to properly back up and sort through my iPhone photos from the last few months, and I quickly put a collection of my favourites. If you follow me on Facebook, you've probably seen a lot of these already, but I thought I'd share them on my blog too. A lot of these are "instagrammed" photos and others are just taken with my regular iPhone camera. Enjoy!
