kim + ryan: winnipeg wedding photographer

November 14th, 2011

There is no end to how creative, unique and out-of-the-box you can design your wedding celebration to be - and here's a great example of an alternative wedding here in Winnipeg! Kim and Ryan decided to get married at their Halloween wedding social, making it one of the biggest wedding celebration bashes that I've ever photographed! We're talking 600 tickets sold and everyone ready to celebrate and party with the wedding couple. It was a blast! And with a short pause for a beautifully intimate ceremony in the middle of all the partying, I know everyone took away a bit of something really special that night.

I have to say, it has been an absolute pleasure working with these guys. Kim is one of the warmest people I know - so quick to show love and to cherish every person around her. Together, they have a wonderful gift of gathering people, having fun and sharing love. It was awesome to see and such an honour to be their wedding photographer. Best overheard line of the night was while we were watching them slow dance - someone from the crowd said to someone else with a happy sigh: "I love her so much..."

And I think that pretty much sums up the night. So much love! I definitely felt like "part of the family", and I'm just the photographer! So here they are, the photos from their October 29th wedding social wedding. Kim glowing around Ryan and Ryan totally enamored by her. :)

...a few things to note:

- Kim's gorgeous black wedding dress was custom-designed by her super talented brother from Toronto - WOW is all I have to say. That dress was made for her, and she was made for IT!

- Kim and Ryan wanted night photos taken in front of the Winnipeg skyline. The famous Esplanade Riel bridge was the obvious location of choice.

- It was extremely cold and windy. I was dressed in full-winter gear, so I have to say a big THANKS to everyone (especially to the ladies!) for braving the weather for these photos.
